Project Description: This church expansion and renovation for the Vietnamese Martyrs Parish wass Phase II of their overall master plan, with Phase I being the learning center renovation on site. Phase II involved demolishing roughly 50% of the Parish’s existing building and construct the new church with adjacent classrooms and administrative offices, with construction totaling around 67,500 SF. The design for this church draws from the French colonial architecture of Saigon and represents an important connection for the parishioners between Tukwila and Vietnam and uses soft, earthy colors that feature warm limestone facades and terracotta colored roofs. These natural colors find harmony with the verdant riverbank that runs along three sides of the property.
